Strange that no mention is made of RAND's association with the Pentagon Papers. I was a RAND analyst for 5 years, and the first scholar brought into that study. Dan Ellsberg and others followed. While still at RAND, I joined with Ellsberg and others in a letter to the Times and WaPo urging immediate US withdrawal from Vietnam. And I testified for Ellsberg at his trial in Los Angeles. Needless to say, all this activism did not sit well with RAND's leadership (Rowen), which pressured some of us to resign. Not a sparkling moment for the organization.

A bit rich of the CEO of RAND to say how they alerted the world to Russia's aggression, when they have as their Russia Chair Sam Charap, the US individual outside government who has probably had more influence in pushing Ukraine towards defeat and subjugation by Russia than anyone.
