“We have the foundation, confidence, and ability to seize the opportunities of the new round of scientific and technological revolution, take advantage of the situation, and do great things.”
Ironically, China is very weak in social sciences where critical thinking about biases, expectations, and cognitive fallacies is explored. What they are calling "sciences" is strictly limited to topics that do not cause the leaders to lose face via controversial or challenging findings. So basically that renders a large portion of what Westerners call "science" off limits to Chinese researchers.
From a PLA military publication that presents Xi Jinping thought from a strategic military standpoint where he outlines the US threat to China and how China should respond. It appears to be a collection of secret speeches Xi gave to the military. Hope they publish more of the text of “Xi Jinping’s Selected Major Statements on National Defense and Military Development.”
A remarkable article, clear, well documented and very interesting. Thank you.
